Happy Holidays To You

It's holiday time! There are parties to attend and shopping to be done and presents to be wrapped and food to be eaten. It is a season of indulgence. So this holiday season, indulge yourself a little. Do something nice for yourself. Do something nice for someone special in your life. Do something nice for a stranger. whatever you do, enjoy yourself and in honor of this season, I have re-written the words to a favorite holiday song.

The Twelve Days of Fitness

On the 1st day of fitness, my trainer said to me:
"Gym participation weekly."

On the 2nd day of fitness, my trainer said to me:
"2 hours minimum, gym participation weekly."

On the 3rd day of fitness, my trainer said to me:
"3 cardio days, 2 hours minimum, gym participation weekly."

On the 4th day of fitness, my trainer said to me:
"4 grams of fat, 3 cardio days, 2 hours minimum, gym participation weekly."

On the 5th day of fitness, my trainer said to me:
"5 chin ups, please! 4 grams of fat, 3 cardio days, 2 hours minimum, gym participation weekly."

On the 6th day of fitness, my trainer said to me:
"6 laps of lunges, 5 chin ups, please! 4 grams of fat, 3 cardio days, 2 hours minimum, gym participation weekly."

On the 7th day of fitness, my trainer said to me:
"7 sets of squats, 6 laps of lunges, 5 chin ups, please! 4 grams of fat, 3 cardio days, 2 hours minimum, gym participation weekly."

On the 8th day of fitness, my trainer said to me:
"8 Arnold presses, 7 sets of squats, 6 laps of lunges, 5 chin ups, please! 4 grams of fat, 3 cardio days, 2 hours minimum, gym participation weekly."

On the 9th day of fitness, my trainer said to me:
"9 mountain climbers, 8 Arnold presses, 7 sets of squats, 6 laps of lunges, 5 chin ups, please! 4 grams of fat, 3 cardio days, 2 hours minimum, gym participation weekly."

On the 10th day of fitness, my trainer said to me:
"10 jacks a jumping, 9 mountain climbers, 8 Arnold presses, 7 sets of squats, 6 laps of lunges, 5 chin ups, please! 4 grams of fat, 3 cardio days, 2 hours minimum, gym participation weekly."

On the 11th day of fitness, my trainer said to me:
"11 leg extensions, 10 jacks a jumping 9 mountain climbers, 8 Arnold presses, 7 sets of squats, 6 laps of lunges, 5 chin ups, please! 4 grams of fat, 3 cardio days, 2 hours minimum, gym participation weekly."

On the 12th day of fitness, my trainer said to me:
"12 bicep curls, 11 leg extensions, 10 jacks a jumping 9 mountain climbers, 8 Arnold presses, 7 sets of squats, 6 laps of lunges, 5 chin ups, please! 4 grams of fat, 3 cardio days, 2 hours minimum, gym participation weekly."

The Bottom Line––want to look good from behind? Who doesn't ? Try this little routine:

15 reps. ea. Front/Rear Lunges––keeping one leg stationary, lunge forward, come back to center and then with the same leg lunge backward. Repeat all 15 with 1 leg, the switch legs.

25 reps. Plie Squats––stand with feet wider than hip distance apart, toes turned out. Hold dumbbell at center of body, squat as low as you can without bending forward.

20 reps. Straight Leg Bend-Overs––hold barbell in front, bend forward at the hips, dropping barbell to the floor.

15 reps. ea Side Lunges––lunge 15 times to the right, bending the right knee and keeping the left leg straight. Change sides.
